We have been offered a bonus event for this calendar year!  Our guest speaker is Nigel Westblade, the Chief Winemaker at Peter Lehmann Wines.  He was appointed to this position last February.  

Nigel began his career at Cape Jaffa Wines on the Limestone Coast, then he moved to E & J Gallo Winery as a research winemaker, before joining Casella Family Brands in 2008.

Darren Shanahan, Manager at Philippe Danduand, has arranged this evening with help from our webmaster, Randy Saunders.  They have put together a great lineup of wines; 4 from the AWAS cellar and 5 from the Agency.

We are grateful to The Listel Hotel, and Chef Chris Whittaker, for coming up with such an interesting menu to pair with these fabulous wines.  Also to Jacquie Bjorkes, Catering Manager, Forage at the Listel, for organizing this event.


1st Course:

Albacore Tuna, blistered heirloom tomatoes, citrus hollandaise

2nd Course: 

Mushroom and leek ash Cavatelli, Alpindon cheese, roasted poblano peppers

Portrait Cabernet 2013, The Barossan Shiraz 2015

3rd Course:

Braised Fraser Valley Duck and cherry tart, cherry dressing, duck egg

The Futures Shiraz 2013, VSV 1885 Shiraz 2009

4th Course:

Grilled Humboldt Squid, Harissa, fingerling potato and crackling

The Mentor Cabernet 2013, VSV Ruediger Cabernet 2009

5th Course:

Braised Turtle Valley Bison Shank, marrow pomme puree, charred onions
